The MGTR-II GPS synchronization sensor is a compact, lightweight, portable field satellite communication GPS receiver system designed for comprehensive line protection scheme testing using Megger SMRT, MPRT, and PULSAR relay testing systems. MGTR-II provides an accurate programmed output pulse (POP) with 100 nanosecond resolution. This output pulse ensures synchronization of two or more SMRT, MPRT, or PULSAR testing systems with less than ±1 ms accuracy relative to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

MGTR-II consists of a 12-channel GPS synchronization receiver integrated with proprietary microprocessor synchronization logic and interface, capable of tracking all available GPS satellites. The synchronization and interface logic, controlled by a microprocessor, obtains precise timing information. Additionally, MGTR-II provides a standard time message with 1 pulse per second (PPS) frequency, a serial ASCII code, an external event timestamp, an IRIG-B serial time code output, and most importantly, a programmable output pulse for end-to-end testing.

The device is supplied with a 15.2 m (50 ft) cable and a weatherproof, high-performance antenna with high noise immunity and built-in low-noise preamplifier. The antenna comes with a 4-inch (10 cm) mounting bracket.

You can control the MGTR-II via a standard RS-232 serial connection and the provided software, which also allows you to operate and interact with the device.
