The MRCT relay and current transformer tester is a lightweight, durable, portable device used for testing demagnetization, overvoltage factor, saturation, winding resistance, polarity, phase deviation, and transformer insulation. MRCT can be configured to perform excitation tests on current transformers using DC voltage, allowing measurement of saturation points up to 30 kV. Additionally, MRCT can be set up for testing current transformers and single-phase relays.
MRCT simplifies testing by automatically calculating overvoltage factor errors, saturation curves, and saturation points. It also provides a microprocessor-controlled variable voltage and current output, as well as precision instruments for automatic testing of single- and multi-ratio current transformers, ultimately reducing testing time and increasing productivity.
Furthermore, MRCT connects directly to multi-ratio current transformers and performs all tests—saturation, switching ratio, polarity, winding resistance, and insulation—on all taps with a single button press and without wire replacement. After testing, your report is generated automatically.
The MRCT device can be controlled via the Megger Smart Touch View Interface (STVI) controller. STVI features a full-color high-resolution touchscreen LCD that allows quick and easy manual and automatic testing through the manual test screen and pre-set test procedures. The large display makes it easy to read all necessary data during testing and view the saturation curve of the current transformer.
The device can also be configured without Megger STVI and operated via a laptop with Megger PowerDB software.
