The MVCT provides microprocessor-controlled variable output voltage and current, as well as precision instruments for automatic testing of single- and multi-ratio current and voltage transformers.
When it comes to current transformers, this device simplifies testing. It connects directly to multi-ratio current transformers and performs all tests—saturation, switching ratio, polarity, winding resistance, and insulation—on all taps with a single button press and without changing the leads. This significantly reduces testing time. Thanks to patented DC technology, saturation points up to 30 kV are achieved, covering tests on open-core current transformers such as TPY and TPZ.
The MVCT can be operated using a large, full-color high-resolution TFT LCD touchscreen, which is easily readable even in daylight. This interface allows easy reading of all necessary data during testing and results after completion. The device can also be configured without a display for control via a laptop using Megger PowerDB software or through the existing Megger Smart Touch View Interface™ (STVI).
