Product description When a quadrupole and coupling capacitor are used together as a communication device, high voltage is applied both to the test object and to the coupling capacitor in parallel with the test object. The quadrupole (sometimes called measurement impedance) can then be placed in series with either the coupling capacitor or the test object. Some quadrupoles also generate a low-voltage copy of the applied high-voltage waveform for partial discharge detector synchronization. This document briefly describes three main models of available Power Diagnostix quadrupoles.
