The SPI4000 is a high-current primary injection testing system that allows testing a wide range of devices, including low-voltage power circuit breakers, molded case circuit breakers equipped with thermomagnetic or electronic trip units, current protection relays, and thermal relays. Designed for automatic circuit breakers with a nominal current up to 4000 A, the SPI4000 fully complies with NEMA AB-4 testing standards.
The SPI system is the first high-current testing system that allows setting a specified current amplitude, then generating and regulating the required high current without pre-heating the test sample, pulsing the output current at high amplitude. Additionally, the SPI system has a unique capability to turn on at each zero-crossing of the current for any load, automatically adjusting the trip angle of the output signal. This eliminates DC offset for all types of circuit breakers and removes the need for manual adjustment of the trip angle for different loads and circuit breakers.
