Product overview Accessories from the ICM series: Calibrators Partial discharge measurement is a useful tool for analyzing the insulation of high-voltage components. However, partial discharges are usually not directly measurable; the device only detects the visible charge of such signals. Therefore, system calibration is necessary. Short-duration current pulses of known charge are fed into the system, allowing the calculation of a scale factor for subsequent partial discharge measurements.
Power Diagnostix offers a wide range of charge calibration injectors suitable for calibrating partial discharge measurements. The appropriate calibrator depends on the typical charge range of the measured components. PDIX series calibrators are suitable for calibration of test setups for:
Cables Transformers Rotating machines SF6 distribution devices Additionally, CAL1 series calibrators can be used for time-domain reflectometry in cables to determine cable length and connection locations.
CAL series devices can be equipped with additional functions for a broad range of applications. Available options:
Compatible with 50 and 60 Hz, switchable Double pulse with adjustable delay (for CAL1 series) Remote power input for external DC power supply (12–24 V) Mode switch for single or continuous pulses (manual trigger) Each PDIX calibrator is supplied with a set of clamps, connectors, adapters, and pre-assembled cables for convenient connection to the measurement setup. Ready-to-use kits include everything needed for quick and easy device connection to specific test systems.
