The CB-845 automatic circuit breaker testing kit is designed for high-current circuit breaker testing, comprising a control unit that integrates the latest solid-state measurement and control technologies, and a high-current output module.
The CB-845 is suitable for a wide range of tests, including molded-case circuit breakers; thermal, magnetic, or solid-state overload relays for motors, and other overcurrent protection devices. Additional applications include testing current transformer ratios and ground fault protection devices.
The device can also test overload relay and molded-case circuit breaker time delay characteristics for units up to 500 amperes, following recommended testing procedures involving testing the thermal device delay at three times their rated current. Instantaneous trip elements can also be tested with higher currents required for these tests. For example, the test kit can deliver a short-term output current of 5000 amperes through a typical 500-amp molded-case circuit breaker.
The lightweight, two-section design of the CB-845 allows easy transportation to locations previously inaccessible for high-current testing equipment, such as overhead or underground load centers, onboard power panels, elevator machinery rooms, and other isolated sites.
