Product Overview OTD Oil Tan Delta is a laboratory device designed to measure tan Delta, specific resistance, and relative dielectric permittivity of insulating liquids. These tests provide a broader understanding of the overall quality of insulating oil and indicate the presence of any contamination. Megger has developed OTD features to ensure maximum laboratory performance.
A microprocessor-controlled induction heater provides uniform temperature throughout the cell according to IEC 60247, and a cooling fan effectively accelerates the cooling time. The device has a temperature measurement range from 10 to 110 ºC with an accuracy of ± 1 ºC. It can be preheated before testing. An automated oil drainage system eliminates the need to move the oil reservoir.
This test kit is designed with safety in mind, allowing you to terminate testing at any time by pressing any keyboard button, which immediately discharges high voltage and stops the test. The cell components are designed to maximize oil filling speed while minimizing turbulence and air ingress. Additionally, since the cell contains only 32 components, it is easy to assemble and disassemble.
The optical sensor (OTD) comes with a calibration checker, enabling quick measurements to verify tan delta, resistance, and dielectric permittivity results. On-site calibration at an authorized service center allows for measurement adjustments as needed, minimizing downtime. Furthermore, OTD includes PowerDB Lite, Megger's asset and data management software, at no extra cost, providing an excellent tool for uploading and printing results. It is also user-friendly, featuring quick tabular navigation and fast text input via a telephone-style keyboard.
