They are durable, lightweight, compact, and easy to operate. Thanks to their small size and built-in battery, these testing systems are ideal for testing conditions without external power sources. Capacitive loads, such as shielded cables, are safely and automatically discharged in case of breakdown and after testing completion using an internal discharge device. The standard high voltage tester 25 kV comes with analog meters, while Megger additionally offers a 25 kV high voltage tester with digital measurement for more accurate current readings and voltage setting.
These devices are ideal for testing paper-insulated/oil-impregnated cables according to IEEE 400-2012 and IEC 60060-3, testing electrical equipment according to IEEE 62.1 and IEEE 95, as well as sheath/external sheath testing of cables according to IEC 60502/IEC 60229.
