Product Description The TORKEL900 series of battery discharge testing systems is the fourth generation of battery analyzers from Megger. Discharge testing is the only method that provides a complete understanding of battery capacity and is therefore an integral part of active battery maintenance programs.
Testing with the TORKEL900 series can be performed under constant current, constant power, constant resistance, or according to a pre-selected load profile. Moreover, if a BVM battery voltage monitor is connected to the TORKEL900 device, TORKEL becomes a fully autonomous discharge testing system.
With the TORKEL900 series, there is no need to disconnect the battery from the equipment. TORKEL900 devices use a DC ammeter to measure the total current of the battery, regulating it at a constant level. If the voltage drops slightly above the end voltage, TORKEL issues an alarm signal, and if there is a risk of deep battery discharge, TORKEL stops the test. All results are stored in TORKEL and can be easily transferred to a PC via USB flash drive.
Additionally, testing times with the TORKEL900 series are significantly reduced due to their high discharge capacity. Discharge can occur up to 220 A, and if higher current is needed, two or more TORKEL units or additional load blocks (TXL) can be combined.
The TORKEL900 series is available in three models: 910, 930, and 950, depending on the maximum current (up to 220 A), voltage (up to 500 V), and required functionality.
