They are designed to provide higher load currents for use in DC or constant power testing. Together, TORKEL and the additional TXL loads form a system capable of discharging batteries at currents up to several kA. The TXL additional loads are connected directly to the battery, while TORKEL measures the total current using a clamp ammeter.
Five additional loads are available: TXL830, TXL850, TXL865, TXL870, and TXL890. Detailed information about them can be found in the TORKEL technical datasheet.
