They are intended for testing low and medium capacitance objects such as transformers, switchgear, insulated busbars, and inlets, and can be used for cable system testing and fault location on high-resistance and high-breakdown voltage cables.
The HPA 100 series includes four configurations based on needs:
HPA 100: Operates only on AC up to 100 kVRMS. HPA 110: Operates only on 110 kVRMS AC. HPA 120: Operates only on 120 kVRMS AC. HPA 130: Provides up to 100 kVRMS AC and/or 130 kVDC DC testing. The HPA130 test set can be equipped with a rectifier for DC testing up to 130 kV. Since the noise level of the test system is below 1%, it is also suitable as a voltage source for partial discharge (PD) measurements.
The two-section design of the HPA 100 series allows the operator to use the device at a safe distance. The control unit manages the high-voltage transformer and includes a variator, current/voltage display instruments, a test duration timer, and safety circuitry.
