Thanks to high resolution, fault detection functions, and load adaptation for faster cable charging, HVB10 is an indispensable tool for utilities aiming to reduce downtime and facilitate power repairs, such as in pilot and communication cables.
HVB10 offers two fault location methods:
Standard Mode: Provides good results for typical sheath faults with resistance up to several hundred kilo-ohms and shield cross-section between 25 and 50 mm². This measurement typically takes about 30 seconds. High-Accuracy Mode: Takes approximately 1 minute to execute but utilizes the full measurement and control capabilities of the device. It is ideal for preliminary detection of complex high-resistance faults (e.g., in PILC internal insulation). The periodic fault detection algorithm is used to obtain results under even more challenging conditions with sparking faults.
