GISmonitor Portable is a portable device for temporary monitoring of partial discharge activity in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). It detects partial discharges caused by spark particles, floating potentials, cracks in insulators or spacers, or other insulation system damages.
The device offers parallel real-time partial discharge data collection on 40 channels, with any UHF signal detectable and digitizable within microseconds.
To eliminate interference signals during measurement, GISmonitor Portable can also be connected to a noise antenna providing a synchronization signal. This allows the device to distinguish partial discharge events from external disturbances in real-time, ensuring effective detection.
For reliable and accurate system operation under harsh environmental or weather conditions, it is recommended to use the ICMoutlander protective enclosure.
GISmonitor is designed for use with all common UHF sensors for GIS partial discharge monitoring, including built-in and external upgraded UHF sensors. The specialized input protection unit (IPU2) blocks strong transient processes. The FCU2 frequency converter demodulates UHF signals to a lower frequency for convenient long-distance transmission.
The device can connect to a PC or laptop via USB port or additional local network interface for data evaluation and advanced diagnostics using GISmonitor Portable software. This service software provides easy access to viewing, comparing, and analyzing acquired data. Current partial discharge data from up to 24 GIS sensors are visualized in parallel.
