Product description When a current transformer replaces the quadrupole, it can be placed around the connection capacitor terminal or around part of the test object itself. The current transformer provides galvanic isolation between the ICM series partial discharge detector and the high-voltage circuit. Power Diagnostix offers current transformers as standalone modules or integrated with the coupling capacitor into a single unit.
Current transformers (CT) are minimally invasive partial discharge sensors, as they do not require interruption of power supply. Such installation is possible even under DC conditions, as the CT100 is a clamp-on current transformer that can be opened and attached around the connection cable, grounding wire, or medium-voltage cable powering a high-voltage motor.
